CBP announces trusted-traveler interview availability across New York

The August 31 notice concerns interview appointments for conditionally approved Trusted Traveler Program applicants in New York State. It is not an immigration-status change or an airport-enforcement operation.

What CBP announced

CBP’s Buffalo Field Office said Trusted Traveler Program interview availability was open at locations across New York State. The announcement directs conditionally approved applicants to the federal Trusted Traveler Programs system for current locations, operating hours, and scheduling.

The announcement is regional

The release concerns appointment capacity within the Buffalo Field Office’s region. It does not establish a new nationwide service level, compare waiting times among states, or show that every enrollment center has appointments.

Conditional approval is not final enrollment

CBP describes conditional approval as an intermediate stage before the required interview. An available appointment does not itself grant membership, and the regional notice does not alter CBP’s vetting or final enrollment decision.

This is separate from airport enforcement

A Trusted Traveler Program interview is an enrollment activity. It is not an ICE interior arrest, CBP port-of-entry admissibility decision, detention event, or removal. Even after enrollment, CBP retains its inspection authority at ports of entry.
